| I received my first camera, a fully manual Chinon, when I was 9. I've been carrying a camera with me wherever I go ever since. A Nikon 6006 served me faithfully through 11 years and innumerable camps and trips before it decided it had done more than its duty and died on me. My current machine is a Nikon 70, and I use a Canon Optura 40 for my digital needs.
Most of my photography is unplanned, captured on the spot, often requiring quick reflexes and a camera that's ready to shoot. It's why I favor this simple camera with a versatile 28-105 lens that I can carry at all times, especially while traveling.
