| In the late 1600’s, Malandela and his wife Nozinja, of the Nguni people, settled on Mandawe Hill in Natal, South Africa. The history of the Zulu nation begins with the marriage of his son Zulu. At first a small clan, the Zulu were turned into a powerful nation in the early 19th century by Zulu’s descendant Shaka. Eventually overcome by the British, they are no longer a warrior nation but are still ruled by a king in the direct lineage of their forefathers. | |
